Where Do I Go?

To get started toward the lifetime dream – skydive - newcomers and visitors to the area need only contact one of the excellent skydiving centers and schools, such as SkyDive San Diego, Pacific Coast Skydiving or Aivcon. Several of these schools and skydiving centers are 20 minutes or less from downtown San Diego. Hundreds of skydivers have experienced the 120-mph free fall in the crystal-clear air above San Diego. There will be even more time to enjoy the ocean, Mexico in the distance to the south, and much more. Most of the skydive schools offer videos of your experience so that you can enjoy it and share it later.

Tandem Or Solo Jump?

One of the first decisions a newcomer to the sport will have to make is: Should I take the first jump in tandem with an instructor or make it a solo jump? For most, the tandem jump is the best way to skydive at first. A very experienced instructor is harnessed to the beginner and is control of the dive at all times. This takes a lot of anxiety out of the jump for the beginner and allows them to enjoy and experience the event more fully.
